I am a 19-year old, first generation college student, who comes from a single-parent household. I’ve had a part-time job since I was 15 years old and am currently putting myself through a 4-year university. My mom works 60+ hours a week. She has a good job and I’m still going to graduate 40K in debt. She never asked for any handouts and NEITHER AM I. I am asking for equality. I’m tired of a system based on luck rather than hard work. And I’m one of the lucky ones.
