We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

i live with a daily anxiety about money and the future.

i work a minimum wage job making 7.50 an hour. i work full time. i’d really like to find a better job but noone will hire me except fast food. i go to school full time so that i can pursue a job that will hopefully pay better, if there is one after i graduate. i constantly look up to my sister who has a dream life. she is married, has 2 jobs. two degrees. i’ve always compared myself. ive had my times where i worked at mcdonalds barely getting any hours, starving, i would steal food from work to eat. scraping 15 cents in my car or around my apartment to buy ramen. i would eat cheese and noodles. luckily i had found abetter paying job with full time hours. i lost that job and went to jail. i ended up fighting with everyone. i lived place to place for 9-10 months. my phone was shut off i owed them 425, two credit s cards racked up over a thousand, doctor bills, over the past two years i have gotten my life back. i have slept in my car in the freezing cold before. i am thankful to have my own room now, in my own bed, i work full time and go to school full time now. i am pretty thankful that i have been able to get my life back together.

i am the 99%
