My mother has Multiple Sclerosis. After working her whole life, she fought for two years to get disability after being laid off.  She gets $900 a month and was told that is “too much” to qualify for public Health Care.  She can no longer afford health insurance, and has been out of her medication for two months.  I am watching her deteriorate right in front of my eyes. I have a BA and work as a part time nanny and have no money to help…..
