We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

Our planet has suffered long enough. Polls show that up to 80% of the US favors moving towards renewable energy such as solar and wind energy, which would also create a lot of jobs and aid in getting us off of foreign sources of energy which is at the root of much of our conflicts overseas. Even simply making our current infrastructure more efficient could have this effect, but this is not in the best interest of the 1%. The oil and gas industry have dominated our energy policy for too long. Among the most highly subsidized industries in the US, sending jobs overseas and using foreign labor at slave wages, complaining about too much regulation and distorting policy conversations, destroying the environment, and controlling prices. And you better believe they’re in with Wall Street and the bankers.

We are the 99%.
We NEED jobs.
We NEED the wars to end and cease their strain on the economy.
And we DEMAND a better energy policy.

I walk to work every day. I buy organic and local at a premium not because I have the money to spare, but because standard farming practices are unsustainable. I take every step I can to reduce the waste I create, and reduce, reuse, recycle, and repurpose whenever I can.
The planet has suffered long enough, and I don’t want to be the generation that sees the planet suffer irreparable harm because of the actions of the 1%. Planet before Profits.
