We’re lucky. 28 years old, wife, mother to a 3-year-old. Went to college, husband has a bachelors, applied to 100s of jobs. Attending school to get his master’s degree but worried there won’t be jobs anyway. I have a serious medical condition, yet no health insurance. Can’t afford it. Both husband and I freelance. Pays the bills, sometimes late. $25k in debt (mostly student loans), down from $40k five years ago. We live within our means. Old car about to die. No savings, no investments. One real emergency away from living with out parents as adults. AGAIN.
