We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I’m an 18 year old high school senior, with a job, who is afraid of what the future holds. I can’t see a way to get ahead without going into debt (for college). It is unfair that my mom, myself, and my grandma before us cannot better ourselves when we work/worked hard everyday and lazy men on Wall St. get everything.

WE ARE THE 99%

note: I’m lucky, we have a house, cable, internet, phone, food, etc. But we have that because we work for it, if something kept my mom from working (sickness, disability) we are in serious trouble. I fear for my future because I have a heart condition that will require expensive tests for the rest of my life. When I turn 19, I will lose my Medicaid and will have at LEAST two years that I will be uninsured. Also, college is expensive enough that I am afraid that to go I will have to take out student loans, and get into debt before I ever get started. There is no longer an American dream for people like me, even though I work hard.
