We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I am a teacher with two master’s degrees.

My paycheck covers childcare for my son and daughter (3 and 1), health insurance for our family, and “almost” groceries. Student loans are deferred and gaining interest.

My husband is self-employed and has lost more than half of his clients since the 2008 economic meltdown.

We can no longer afford the mortgage payments on a house that is almost $75,000 upside-down in value. We’ve moved and the bank is foreclosing.

We have no back-up plan.
