We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I am 17 years old. If I don’t get aid from colleges in the form of scholarships or financial aid, I can’t go to college, despite my 3.97 GPA. My father had to move out of the continent to find work with a PhD degree. My friend and her mom pay rent to live in someone else’s basement (their house was foreclosed). I don’t have health insurance, but I do have an autoimmune disease.
