I am a 25-year old journalist. I am one of the fortunate few in my generation to snag a full-time job after graduating from college. Many of my older colleagues doing the same job make twice as much and work half as much. My employer sees increased...

I am a 25-year old journalist.
I am one of the fortunate few in my generation to snag a full-time job after graduating from college.
Many of my older colleagues doing the same job make twice as much and work half as much.
My employer sees increased profits every year … I see increased responsibilities and benefit costs without a so much as a penny raise since I joined the workforce.
Due to cost-of-living increases and inflation, combined with no raises since I took this job, I am barely floating above the poverty line.
My wife and I desperately want to have children, but we know we can’t afford them.
