We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I believed in the American Dream… that my husband and I could build a house where we could raise our 3 sons..that it would increase in value so that when the time was right, we could sell and use the equity to fund our retirement. Instead, as my youngest is finishing college, my husband’s business has failed, forcing us to declare bankruptcy. The value of the house has fallen to what it cost us 16 years ago or less, and the market is so bad we can’t sell it even at that price. Nor can we afford to make the payments. We are about to lose EVERYTHING.

I am the 99%.
