We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I worked for the same company for 15 years. In 2010 they shipped the manufacturing jobs and the manufacturing support jobs to China in the hope that this would possibly increase share values and appease the shareholders.

Fortunately my wife is a union member, which has protected her from the same sort of agro-capitalistic, predatory greed.

Unfortunately, our credit card % rates were increased and our credit limits were decreased, for no reason, in 2009 just before the implementation of the Credit Card Act of 2009 which outlawed this sort of gouging.

Our health insurance has gone up as our income has gone down.  Because of this, we avoid preventative care.  These days, we just hope that there are no medical emergencies.

Not too long ago our dreams involved owning a home and living as well as the previous generation.  Nothing fancy, just safe and comfortable.

Now, those kind of dreams seem pointless.  We live day to day.  These days, all talk about the future also requires fundamental but theoretical changes to the economic and political structure of our society.  It’s impossible to talk about owning a home unless we also fantasize about drastic socioeconomic re-alignment.

I feel for you, but don’t knock share holders. They invest in our economy and they often hold businesses accountable.
