We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I’m a 2nd year high school teacher. I took on $40,000 in student loans to do this job. This year, my pay decreased because of insurance costs, while my work load increased because of layoffs. I’m making ends meet because I’m single and live modestly. I can only save less than $200 a month, but am grateful I can save at all.

I am the 99%.
