We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I live, as my mother has and does, paycheck to paycheck (when I have a job), always balancing which bills to pay and which ones to put off. Foregoing luxuries like annual physicals and any kind of dental work, in order to put food on the table and keep a roof over my kids’ heads.

I am $100,000 in debt to a foreclosed house, a repossessed car and the credit cards I had to use to survive when I was “downsized” out of a good job 7 years ago.

I live my life with constant stress, knowing I’m always just 2 weeks away from being homeless.

This isn’t the American Dream, it’s the American Nightmare and I live it every single day.

I am the 99%

And I’ve had enough.
