We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I graduated with an Ivy League education and–like so many others–I was deceived.

Since starting Kindergarten, I was always taught that the key to success was an education.  Though this remains true, I find it questionable that to obtain this education, one must throw themselves into [seemingly insurmountable] debt.

I made the decision to move to South Korea after working as a teacher in California for a year, and subsequently being laid off.  I had a passion for my work, a fresh zeal to educate students, and a desire to help my society grow.  Yet when I couldn’t find full time positions–despite my DEGREES!–I looked elsewhere.

The decision to leave was not an easy one, as I abandoned a relationship with the person I love, years together, completely gone.  All for the sake of personal finances–student loans!!!

I hope to return to the United States soon, but currently have no desire to do so.  My vision for our future is bleak, unless we stand together and fight to assume control of OUR government and OUR future.  End this greed!

I am the 99 percent.
