We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I am a sophomore in high school. I am determined to take the tough AP classes, and I am already three years ahead in math for my age. I work hard to be accepted into esteemed colleges to start a career that can finally let my mom retire from the three jobs she currently has.

All I wanted to be when I grow up was a baker. It turns out that we can’t afford to dream anymore.
