We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I am 31 years old. I served a year in Iraq as an infantryman. I continue to serve my country in the National Guard. I’m a WAR VETERAN.

I have a part-time retail job where I make less than $9/hour. I go to school full-time to earn my Bachelor’s degree. I would get a second job if I could but there just aren’t any in my town.

I had to send my wife and son to live with my in-laws overseas because we could no longer afford to live in our 2-bedroom apartment. I now live in a studio apartment, and they live far away. For how long? Who knows…

I make too much $ for food stamps but live on instant noodles. My family is split up. I serve my country to pay for my education, and pray I can get a job with my degree. Then maybe I can bring my family home. I’m battling depression…do you have to wonder why?

I AM THE 99%!!!

…and I still believe in the American Dream!
