We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent.

I am a high school senior filled with apprehension and fear of my own future. I want to pursue a career in the sciences, which requires lots of school time. I am excited for this, as I love to learn new things. But I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of debt I will be in by the time I receive my PhD. My dream college is a wonderful large urban school with fantastic resources right nearby. But the idea that I might not be able to go to the school of my choice based on money, not knowledge, makes me sick. Why does our country funnel it’s money into wars and companies instead of schools?
