Every payday it comes down to what MUST get paid or get shut off. I’d love to feed my children fresh organic produce but it comes down to what will keep, what we can afford to keep on hand. I’d love to shop local but can only afford big box stores. For the amount of time and energy my partner and I put into working how is it that he is still not getting paid enough for us to meet the basic needs of a family of four—bills, food, and medical care? Work, work, work, struggle, struggle, struggle then die. The future feels hopeless.
