I am an employed, educated, debt-free, contributing member of adult society. I have Type 1 Diabetes. My healthcare costs average $500 per month out of pocket.  Insurance costs more, so I don’t have any. I live in Fear. I am afraid that I will not be able to afford my insulin.  I am afraid that I will not be able to afford my insulin pump supplies.  I am afraid that I will not be able to afford food.  I live with this fear daily because $800 gross income per month is NOT a living wage for anyone suffering from chronic illness or any other ailment.
