I am 21 years old and have been unable to find a job since I dropped out of college in 2008 to take care of my dying grandmother. I am currently being supported by my amazing boyfriend who works 40+ hours a week, yet is still paid as/considered a “part-time” employee. I have no car. We are both uninsured and in debt for defaulting on student loans that we were unable to pay[due to the fact that the minimum monthly payments were/are $100+] considering we are barely making it as it is. We get no kind of government assistance and live in a house that is literally falling apart in one of the poorest areas of the city. We are lucky and thankful for what we do have, but scared for our future as well as the future of younger generations.
