We are drowning in our student loan debt.  The interest should be criminal.  We got our degrees to try to make the world a better place, and in return we get monthly payments so high that we can’t afford the rest of our incredibly frugal lives.  I got my Master’s degree in a useful field thinking it would give me more career opportunities to somehow get us our of this paycheck-to-paycheck life.  And I do make more money per hour with my Master’s…..exactly enough more per hour to pay each month for the student loans it cost me to get the Master’s, but only barely.  So we haven’t gotten any closer to getting out of this.  One crisis and we’re screwed.
